March Madness Party Ideas

I love the idea of a March Madness Party. Now, in reality, I'm usually way too glued to the actual games to actually receive guests.  It's hard to be gracious when you're busy watching replays.  And, to be quite honest, basketball season brings out some salty language at my house.  (Let's just say that it's good that the only "little ears" belong to my dogs...) Of course,  these pedantic and practical concerns certainly haven't stopped me from taking to Pinterest to plan the perfect hypothetical March Madness Party.

If you're trying to keep it civil among fans of various teams, you could go with a more generic "basketball" theme, rather than fan colors.

An iced sheet cake easily becomes a bracket.

The basketball-as-dessert possibilities are seemingly endless.

These whimsical"fried chicken cookies" in a KFC bucket are a great nod to any games held at the Yum!Center.

I'm dying to bake these  Chocolate Stout and Salted Caramel whoopie pies. It would be fairly easy to claim that they're in referee-stripe colors.

If you're cheering for any of the three Kentucky teams who'll be playing this weekend, you could create a colorful theme.

Navy icing sounds a bit frightening to attempt, but a Murray State theme could easily be achieved with some printables, some bright Fiesta Ware, and some lemony desserts.

Cardinals fans could choose from the gorgeous serving pieces in Louisville Stoneware's U of L line. Red foods always make a dramatic presentation.

If Wildcat Blue is more to your liking, there are many ways to Calipari On.
