Kentucky Bucket List Tour

Exactly one year ago, we at HerKentucky shared our favorite things about Kentucky in a post series called "100 Favorite Things." Over the holidays, I noticed a book picking up popularity at Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Lexington (a recurring location on many of our "favorite things" lists). The book was "The Kentucky Bucket List" written by local author Michael Crisp.

Inside it's exactly what it states: a run down of 100 top items to do in Kentucky from the stereotypical (#1, attend the Kentucky Derby) to exotic (#16, visit a town with an unusual name). Lexington tour operator Freedom Tours has partnered with the author to explore items from his bucket list in a series of day trips.

The first trip is on March 27th and it's headed to Louisville to cross a few items off, including eating a hot brown at The Brown Hotel and touring Churchill Downs along with a trip inside the secret vault at the Kentucky Derby Museum. I always thought it would be fun to play tourist in the state I've lived in for so long, so I'm hopping on the bus! Tickets are $99/person and include transportation and attractions.
