In Photos: Downtown Lexington; Gaslight Festival

This weekend, I had a chance to be in Lexington again for the first time since I moved back to Kentucky. Before I brag on my new hometown, I wanted to share this photograph I snapped from our downtown hotel room window. As always, the beauty of Lexington can't be matched. Neither can the fun. We went to some of our old haunts, saw a movie at The Kentucky Theatre, loaded up on UK gear, took in the strange yet wonderful sights of Scarefest (best celebrity: Elvira, Mistress of the Dark), and pretended not to watch that terrible football game.

Is it just me, or does Louisville seem to have more than its fair share of festivals? Not that I'm complaining. A few weekends ago, we attended the Gaslight Festival in Jeffersontown. Yes, the kids loved the Scooby Doo bouncy house, electric blue cotton candy, and variety of $9 blinking light up toys, but nothing compared to the giddy squeals elicited from the balloon glow.
